The composer - Feature Film Score
Feature Film, Orchestral, Emotional, atmospherics and sound design, falling into crazy, epic.
The Composer is a story about a man who lost everything that he cared about. His journey takes him to the bottom of the bottle and follows his struggle back to his rightful place as a hard working composer.
The score for this gritty tale needed to be, at times, both epic and dark. It is largely an orchestral score with elements of electronica dasheed in here and there.

Orchestral, Electronica, Emotional, Documentary Score
On 27 March 2014 - an incredible 48 years after he was first imprisoned - Hakamada was temporarily released from Japan's death row and solitary confinement, as Shizuoka District Court granted him a retrial based on new DNA evidence. Sadly, his prosecution have decided to challenge the District Court's decision to retry him - they lodged an appeal against the retrial on Monday 31 March. This Documentary follows the last ten years of the struggle to Free Hakamada Iwao once and for all.
Life - Award winning Documentary Feature
Orchestral, Electronica, Emotional, Documentary Score
Life follows some families in the aftermath of the 2011 Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami. This is a feature length score and as part of preparation for this I walked through the Tohoku area and met some of the people who were affected by this disaster. The score is simple, with signs of darkness but also an overall feeling of hope for the future.
The Ripple Effect in Cambodia -
Documentary for HOPE International
Orchestral, Cello, Emotional, Asian, Score
The brief for this contest was to watch the short film "SAVE ME" and write a fitting score.
The only precedent was to use at least one asian sounding instrument in the score.
In my score I interpreted the story to be about survival, where a mother bear and cub are up against the odds of survival in a hunter infested world.
The score contains Japanese Koto, Taiko, aspects of Indian percussion, Atmospheric pads and Cello with orchestra.

Kiro - Short Film Score
Short Film, Orchestral, Emotional, Strings, Piano,
Michael is far from grounded. He never seems to catch a break and through his own mistakes he ends up in a dire situation. In this short film the main character is for from grounded. I wanted the score to be stoic and grounded. Michael's theme shows his strength in the face of adversity. The sub theme is the fantastical dream sequence which depicts the choices that he has to make.
Departure - Short Film Score
Short Film, Orchestral, Emotional, atmospherics and sound design, Cello.
The underlying feeling of this short film is laced with tragedy and horror. However I wanted to show the grandness of what the old burnt out hotel was in its golden era. A big thematic orchestral score with lovely cello played by the amazing Ashley Ford.
As the film goes on I wanted to simplify the score and add a sense of support for what is clearly depicted in the dialog and photography.
That Winter - Short film Score
Short Film, Orchestral, Emotional, atmospherics and sound design, piano.
This fill is set in the cold winter. I wanted to use the sound of the wind to help produce a cold score. The swirling of the wind and the swells in the orchestration help to keep an essence of movement in this relatively simple score.
